Larvicidal synergistic efficacy of plant parts of Lantana camara against Aedes aegypti

Introduction: Aedes aegypti is a major transmitter of dengue and chikungunya diseases in tropical subtropical regions the world. This study was carried out to assess crude extracts flower, leaves stem Lantana camara against larva Ae. aegypti. Method: 125, 250, 500 1000 ppm methanol leaves, flower L. were prepared tested for their insecticidal activities fourth instars larvae. Results: All plant showed moderate effects after 24 h exposure; however, LC50 22.548 1695.510 respectively extract no activity. But synergistic combination with had 2175.56 ppm, while leaf gave 28486.99 66419.62 ppm. Conclusion: The could be used as an alternative source mosquitocidal agent due several plants having secondary metabolites, cost-effective, easily available less toxic human health.
